What’s Actually Included When You Buy Hearing Aids at SoundChoice Hearing

If you’ve ever shopped for hearing aids before, you’ve probably run into the same problem I hear about from patients all the time: the sticker price doesn’t tell you the whole story. You get a number, you buy the devices, and then a few months later you’re getting billed for a cleaning, a follow-up adjustment, or a repair you assumed was already covered.

That’s not how we do things at SoundChoice Hearing, and I want to walk you through exactly why.

The Price You See Is the Price You Pay

When my wife Christy and I started SoundChoice, we built our whole philosophy around one idea: no surprises. So when you get fitted for hearing aids with us, you’re not just paying for a pair of devices. You’re getting a full package of care that goes with them for years.

Here’s what’s bundled into every fitting at no additional cost:

Follow-up visits and adjustments. Hearing aids aren’t a “set it and forget it” purchase. Your ears, your lifestyle, and even the season can change how a device performs for you. We build in the visits it takes to get your settings right, and to keep them right as your hearing needs shift.

Routine cleanings and maintenance. Albuquerque’s dry, dusty climate is tough on hearing aids. Wax, debris, and dust can build up fast, and a clogged microphone or receiver is one of the most common reasons people think their hearing aids have “stopped working” when really they just need a cleaning. We handle that as part of your care, not as an add-on service.

Minor repairs. Small issues happen: a loose tube, a worn dome, a battery door that doesn’t seal right. Those get fixed as part of the relationship, not billed out one at a time.

The 3-Year Hearing Aid Warranty

Every hearing aid we fit comes with a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty covering defects and mechanical failure. If something goes wrong with the device itself, you’re covered, no arguing with us about it, no hidden deductible you didn’t know existed.

The 3-Year Loss and Damage Coverage

This is the piece people are usually most surprised by. Hearing aids are small, and small things get lost; they fall out at the gym, get left on a nightstand, or get chewed up by a curious dog. If that happens within the first three years, our loss and damage coverage helps get you back up and running without paying full price for a replacement.

Between the warranty and the loss and damage coverage, you’re protected for three full years against basically anything that could happen to the devices, a broken part, a lost aid, or hardware that just fails.

Why We Structure It This Way

I’ve spent my whole career in this industry, and I’ve seen how often the “cheaper” hearing aid ends up costing more in the long run — you pay for every visit, every cleaning, every small fix, and the bill creeps up without you noticing. We’d rather you know upfront what you’re getting, so the only real decision is which technology fits your hearing loss and your life.

If you’re in the Heights or on the Westside and you’ve been putting off a hearing aid purchase because you’re not sure what you’re actually paying for, that’s exactly the conversation I want to have with you. Come in for a free demo, and I’ll walk you through what’s covered, what it costs, and what to expect for the next three years. No surprises, just straight answers.

See you soon.
